My Newest Pattern!

Yes, I did it!  I put my most requested sweater for the Little Darlings in pattern form.  And it’s ready for you to knit away on.  Now, your Little Darling can have a closetful of her very own “light as a feather” cardigans.

When I was taking commissions this was the sweater everyone wanted.  It is knit with mohair/silk lace weight yarn, and is as “light as a feather”.  It is oh, so pretty, and is still one of my favorites as well.

My pattern gives you a total of nine different variations.  You can choose three sweater lengths:  cropped, mid, longer (for a slightly dropped waist bodice).  There are three different sleeve lengths:  short, elbow, long.  The pattern includes some shaping in the body so that the sweater covers the beginning bit of a gathered skirt.  It looks equally nice unbuttoned or buttoned.

The neckline edging and hemlines are all in garter stitch.  Like my previous patterns, the entire sweater is knit in one piece with very minimal finishing.

Here are just a few past photos of sweaters I’ve made using this pattern.  Please note that some of them have ribbed edgings.

I wish you all a very lovely day!  The sun is rising!  It looks like we’re in for the fourth straight day with some sunshine.  Yay!!!  It’s glorious!  (I won’t mention the temperature, it’s COLD today.)

Thank you for visiting!  Bye for now!

One, Two, New Patterns!

I’ve been hard at work the last two days trying to get these two designs into pattern form for all of you knitters.  And I did it!  I’ve completed them just in time so that you have something fun to do during your holiday downtime.

When all of the holiday work is done you can relax in front of the fireplace with a cup of tea or cocoa or coffee, a plate of cookies, and knit your Little Darling cute winter wear.  If your weather has been anything like ours she’ll need it.

You’ll find both of these patterns to be a quick knit, especially the headband earwarmer.  And if you have more than one Little Darling, you can make each of them a winter set.

The patterns are for sale on my website, cindyricedesigns.com.  Click on the “Shop Patterns” tab.

NEWS! My First Knitting Pattern is Ready!

Who is it for?  Hmm…  okay, I’ll finally tell.  You’ve all waited long enough.  Sorry for the delay.  I think I set a record for the number of edits in a pattern.

I read ALL of my blog, Facebook, and email comments, and the #1 request was for a Little Darlings pattern, so that is who got the first pattern.  It is a very simple sweater pattern which I titled “Classic Cardigan”.  It is knit with fingering weight wool which is not too fine; in fact it’s just right for a wooly fall sweater.  I have included instructions for three sleeve lengths too.

I think this pattern is a good starting point for all of you who know how to knit, but are still new to the craft.  (Those of you who are more advanced probably won’t have any problems skipping over the extra instructions.)  If you know how to knit, I believe you can follow my pattern.  Any stitches that you aren’t familiar with can be found on You Tube.

This pattern is the perfect “canvas” for embroidery and applique.  I included my Ten Tips for Embroidery on Hand Knits along with some photos for inspiration too.

Pattern is available as a pdf digital pattern; you’ll need a pdf reader application installed on your computer.  If you go to my website click on the “Shop Patterns” tab and keep clicking until you get to this pattern.  I have the navigation set up for more patterns and for more dolls (high hopes, I know . . .), so you’ll need to complete a few clicks.

Once you complete your Paypal payment, I will send the pattern as an attachment to your email address.  Please make sure I have your correct email for sending the pattern to. There are no shipping charges and the pattern can be sent anywhere as long as you have an email address.

Please let me know of any problems.  Like anything new, I expect a glitch or two.  I am sorry in advance for any frustration these may cause you.

Bye for now!
