I keep starting and stopping, and then deleting the whole post. I just can’t form a cohesive sounding post. So, please forgive me if this seems a mess. I really wanted this to get this one finished, and at least get a “hello” out there. So hello, and Happy September to you all!!!
This past week was quite a slow week for me; weed allergies and wrist pain slowed me down, and made me feel quite tired and lethargic. For me, the end of summer is the worst time for allergies; as soon as we have a frost I feel better. As for my wrist, it is still painful, especially the day after I have been knitting. I am going for a nerve test this next week to see if carpal tunnel is the problem. If it’s not the nerves, maybe it’s tendonitis or bursitis.
Yesterday, I finished another jumper pinafore ensemble, which was mostly complete at the beginning of the week. However, I managed to spend an entire day creating the little coloring book, and then many more hours on the little crayons and the box. I used to be more proficient at Adobe Illustrator. Use it or lose it as they say, and I’ve lost a lot over the years. The end result is what makes it all worth while, though, and I am happy with how it turned out. I’m glad I stuck with it.
Here’s a sneak peek of Lucy in her new ensemble.
Lucy’s jumper has bullion stitch and beaded butterflies embroidered on it. They are fun to make, although a bit fiddly. The number of wraps to make the larger half of each butterfly’s wing is 30!
This is the third pinafore jumper I’ve made, and it isn’t the last before the pattern will be released, sorry. I made some changes to the back placket, and the changes need to be tested first. These pieces require a good bit of knitting, and with my wrist acting up, it may be a little while before the pattern is ready. Plus, I think I need to knit something different just for a change. I’ve also been toying with the idea of making a set of little dresses for Amelia Thimble or Pukipuki.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by. Bye for now.
