Back in My Studio Again

Hello my dear reader friends.  It’s been a long week away… yet again.  My dad passed away last week, and so, I was with my family.  I had actually planned on visiting my dad as he wasn’t doing well, but upon touching down in Florida I got a feeling, which proved to be true.  He passed the night before.  Since I had such an early flight no one wanted to tell me the news until I got there.  It’s funny, but I had no idea, no feeling, until we landed.  And then, it was like a veil was lifted, and I knew.  It is still so sad to talk about, but I  wanted to share with why I’ve been away.

Here’s a photo of my dad, with my brother and I, taken in the mid 1960’s.  You can see how much we loved our daddy.

I may be a little slow getting back to normal with my dolly things, but I am sure going to try.  I was playing around a little today with Penny and some new wigs and eyes that arrived while I was away; that was fun.

Thanks for reading.  Bye for now.

What an adorable photo of you, bro, and dad. Such a treasure. So sorry for your loss. My dad died 3 years ago. You never forget them, and it gets easier as time goes on. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you, Jane. And thank you for the reminder to take it easy on ourselves. I will think of your words when I feel particularly stressed; and will pass your words on to my siblings too.

Thanks so much, Sonia. Your thoughts are appreciated. Long lost (or so I thought) memories of him pop up continually. I’ve started writing them down as I don’t want to forget them.

    Dear Cindy,
I am so sorry for your loss. Knowing your father as my father-in-law I can only say he truly was a kind and gentle man who loved his children with no bounds. He touched many people and I feel so lucky to be one of those people.

Bless you Cindy and your family. It is so strange how these things happen. Right before my father-in-law passed, my husband had one brother who wasn’t doing well and was a cause for worry for my mother-in-law. The morning after F-I-L passed during the night, my B-I-L was called and he said he knew and he was at peace. He said his dad had come to him in a dream and instilled him with peace. So strange. Anyhow, what a beautiful family you were.

Thank you, Jayne. What a great story and I love hearing them. They are wonderful, and give us so much hope. We have one too. On the night my dad passed, my sister-in-law was dreaming of a very bright light shining in the window; it was so bright that it woke her up. As she was waking my brother (or shortly after) to tell him, the call came in that my dad had passed. My dad and brother were very close. Thanks for sharing your story, Jayne.

Dear Cindy, I’m very sorry for your loss and also sorry that you just didn’t make it there in time to see your dad before he passed away. I too arrived just a little after my dad died, having received a call to come and I drove like a maniac but was just that bit too late. But we have our memories and no-one can take those away from us. The photo of you, your brother and your dad is lovely, what a photo to cherish.
Sending big hugs from Spain xxx

Thank you, Sharon. I must have looked quite odd crying as I got off the plane and walked through the terminal, but I couldn’t help it, and I didn’t care either. Sorry you missed seeing your dad before he passed also.
