A Little Christmas Spirit

Hi there and a happy Friday evening (or Saturday morning, if you are in other parts of the world) to you.  This morning I started browsing on Pinterest and got to looking at my vintage Christmas card board and was enjoying it very much.  I LOVE vintage illustrations, well modern illustrations too!  Anyway, as I was looking through my board I was getting nostalgic and more and more in the Christmas spirit.  I thought that maybe you would enjoy it too, so put on some Christmas music, grab a cup of something hot, and please enjoy my collection of Christmas illustrations from years and decades gone by!

Here’s the link to my Vintage Christmas Card board:  click here

      Hello Catherine,
I am happy that you enjoyed looking at my Pinterest board. I agree, cards are lovely, and quite impossible to throw away. I still have my baby cards and birthday cards from when I was young.
Hope you enjoy the weekend too… we are waking up to LOTS of heavy, wet, snow!

    HI Cindy,
I loved looking through your Christmas cards and as I looked, wondered which one was the oldest… I’m thinking maybe the little dark haired girl in the red footie pajamas…
My favorite was the little girl standing sort of sideways in the short blue and white dress with a bluish jacket on. She’s wearing a cloche type hat and has a arm full of holly with red berries. She reminds me of the Effner dolls… so sweet!
Well, I’m off to bake a turkey… we are getting rain right now and the temperature is supposed to drop… I hope not enough to turn this to snow…
    Have a great day Cindy,
    Blessings, Jeanne

    Hi Jeanne,
Your house must smell like Thanksgiving right about now. I saw your corn casserole and pistachio pie progress on your blog. It must drive your husband nuts to be smelling all of this food cooking in the oven and not be able to eat it.
It’s hard to tell which is the oldest, though most do bring to mind a certain era. I cannot even pick out a favorite era much less a favorite card, love them all.
    Thanks, Jeanne.

How fun! Love vintage cards. I picked up a pack of the sweetest little birth announcements last week at a yard sale. From the early 50’s. Price on the back was 15 cents. My husband always looks at me funny and says what are you going to do with those? Ha!
