I’ve just completed 30 days of daily blogging! It didn’t start out as a goal or anything like that, but it is an accomplishment for me nontheless. I guess I started blogging day after day in September because I had gone 9 days without a blog post and was wondering if it would get easier if I made it a daily habit.
It did get easier, but also took a lot of my creative energy, so less time and energy for actually making new things. This past week I started preparing my post in the evening which solved that dilemma, but it is harder for me to write in the evening. I also noticed that looking back so often on my past creations stopped me from looking forward. It kind of got me stuck in the past. Like, “Oh, that was so cute.” or “I should make something like that again.” This kept me from moving forward at my usual pace. Funny how that happens…
I’m not sure if I will continue blogging daily or not. Any comments out there?
Anyway, thank you to my readers for reading along! I appreciate all of you!
As a thank you, I’m having a drawing for a free online Craftsy class. Actually I have two of them to give away. Craftsy sent me a “thank you” email to forward to three of my friends so they can get a free class. My first “friend” was my husband, he picked a photography class, and my second and third friends are two of my readers. All you need to do is leave a comment and tell me which class or type of class that you would pick and you will be entered. Don’t worry, you can change your mind later.
The drawing will be Sunday night, October 11 2015, (9:00 pm CST), so you’ll know on Monday, October 12th (check my Monday’s blog post) if you are one of the lucky recipients for a free online Craftsy class. If you win I will forward Craftsy’s email to you. You can click the link in their email which will take you to the Craftsy site where all the classes will be free until you choose one. (This is how my husband said it worked.) You will need to sign up for a Craftsy account to get the freebie.
You can go here to peruse Craftsy’s online class list. This drawing has no monetary value, it’s a freebie, so if you don’t want a class, but want to comment just mention it in the comments.

I am glad you enjoy reading my daily stories. ❤ It is wonderful that you had a sunny Saturday with lots of happy birds in your garden. We have lots of birds (and squirrels) here too. They are fun to watch and listen to. We have robins, cardinals, blue jays, sparrows, house wrens, crows, and swallows here. Do you have these kinds or different species?

I’ve enjoyed your 30 days seeing your beautiful outfits and dolls, but know it must have been difficult. Don’t want to see your creativeness stifled. Maybe cut back to once a week? or whatever your schedule allows.
I would guess Craftsy has a “how to knit” class? or “knitting for dummies.” I’d probably choose that. And thank you for doing the give away.

Oh, I love your blog and enjoy your updates and pictures. My favorite is Dianna Effner’s little gal that is so adorable. Hmm, if I was to win a class, I would choose a knitting class. I am currently knitting some little dresses for the 12″ gals from Integrity Toys. Their convention is coming up in a couple weeks and the dresses will be my table gifts. There’s always something new to learn in knitting. Today at my Knit Guild I learned the Estonian braid. A fun morning!

I’m going to my sisters house this coming Thursday for a “girls week” with my mom, and 2 sisters. We’ve got all kinds of fun things planned but I have been working double duty getting some posts written up so I didn’t have to do it when I was there. I have 6 more to write!
Okay, now to your blogging… I have enjoyed them all..and have read them all, just not commented. I think you are doing a wonderful job and it’s fun to see the way others write. I think my style is more whimsical, whatever that is, but your writing is more polished and very well done! I should take a writing course…
I know blogging does cut into sewing time and that’s a decision you have to decide, do I trade blogging time for sewing time or would I rather sew and not blog. For me, I want to blog every day, and it’s like my walking, I try to get in 10,000 steps a day and haven’t missed a day since September 20th. Sometimes I find myself walking in the house frantically at 11:30 because I don’t want to make an excuse for not doing it. That’s just me though.
I do miss the sewing time that my blogging time takes up, but for now, I’m willing to let it go. One of these days, I’d like to be successful enough to monetize my blog… then I can sew and make money on the side.
I have considered just blogging M-F, but I haven’t done it yet… You have to do what feels right for you.
I opened up the link you had for Craftsy and immediately thought this is a fun place to look around on. I would probably do an online class for crocheting. I know a little bit about it and can do a simple doll hat, but would like to improve on them…

Well, you may not post often, but when you do it’s great! (We talk almost daily, but we mostly meet at your house (blog). Good luck writing all of those posts in a row. You’ve been so good posting daily for so long, I know you’ll have no problem. I have a hard time coming up with one at a time. Gotta use your note pad idea and have them all over the house.
I’ve never considered myself a writer and I am sure that I make quite a few grammatical errors. When my daughter isn’t too busy I will ask her if my punctuation is correct. She tried to teach me a few things, but this old brain can only take in so much at a time. Thank you for overlooking my writing faults. I love your blog. It is very conversational; it’s like you’re sitting across the table from us.
Picturing you walking frantically around the house at 11:30 made me laugh. Good for you though. Letting one day slip makes the next easier and the next one even easier, and before you know it you’re not getting your walk in at all. I used to walk 4 miles daily, every day, unless it was below 0 degrees. These days I walk when the weather is beautiful simply to enjoy it. My main exercise is doing interval training on my recumbent bike, 22 minutes is all it takes, and only needed every other day. I also do a little yoga.
I’ll figure something out with my blog. I’m going to try writing posts at night for now.
